dream#1
when the cops tell me what i did this morning I'm gonna talk about this dream i had. where i was trying to cover a shift, but it could have easily been that I was trying to change lives. Everyone I asked at the party told me the same story: a woman on the staircase, dressed up, highly unusual for her age they added, comes down the stairs most awkwardly, sits at one of the poker tables, turns to the person at the next poker table (the gender of this person was completely dependent on who was telling me the story), their exchange is unrecorded. But the significance of the exchange was the woman's husband watching from across the room. Everyone declined my proposition to swap lives due to the severe consequences this woman was now paying, something about her husband wanting a divorce. Now you have to understand I got told this story perhaps a dozen times, same story, frame by frame, just varying context. By the time I got to the unidentified individual whom she was in exchange with I was dying to know the truth, but this person appeared distant, didn't want to discuss the matter with me, possibly under duress from the woman's husband. The gender of this person still unknown. The husband on the other-hand was more than willing to describe his wife on the staircase as a hooker, not in the sense of practice but rather physical appearance. He explained she wasn't awkward at all but was rather forward in her body language. But he too refrained from giving me further detail of the exchange. After hearing this scenario so many times I regressed in my investigation, and turned back, from how I can remember it, and there was David Lynch in the directors chair. I turned to someone next to me, "You know, this is the new David Lynch movie, and it's incredible." And I left the set.
